How To Play
Neon Exile is a new type of multiplayer VR game where everything takes place in a single persistent world. We have decided to release early to prove out the core mechanics and technology while also working with the community to create a game unlike any other.
|
To get into the game world you will have to pass the Vanguard training exam within the single-player training level that can be accessed from the main menu. This level is also featured in the demo, so feel free to try that out first to see if the movement and game mechanics are for you.
This video shows the first part of the training and basic game mechanics. |
What To Do
Fringe Sector
Once you complete the exam and enter the Fringe Sector you will be on the live multiplayer server. This is a single world server, so what you do on the server is public and persistent. If you build a new structure it will be there for every other player to see and interact with.

Goal
The goal of the Fringe Sector is to stop the expansion of the VERMIN robots by destroying their Colony Structures. This can only be done with an EMP bomb that you can build in a Fabricator. But first you'll need to locate the VERMIN colonies across the wasteland. If the VERMIN are left alone they will continue to build new structures and expand their territory until they overrun the player spawn areas and destroy player made structures. |
Resources
In order to build construction materials, weapons or machines, you will need resources. All players start with 1000 RU but additional resource can be gained from collecting the scrap left behind if you destroy a VERMIN robot, or at scrap piles located across the sector. Pick up scrap and place into your inventory to convert it into RU. |
Toxic Fog
There is a layer of toxic fog on the ground covering the entire Fringe Sector. This fog will damage your Vanguard suit.
